Why We’re Sitting Out IBMS 2025 And What We’re Building Instead

IBMS Congress is a landmark event in our industry.

It’s a place to connect with the people behind the science, see what’s new, and share what we’ve been building. We’ve always looked forward to it and we’ve always made the effort to be there.

So we want to speak plainly about why you won’t find ISS exhibiting at IBMS 2025 this year.

This wasn’t an easy decision. It wasn’t made quickly, and it wasn’t made without care.

But ultimately, it came down to one clear priority: getting the foundations right.

We’re growing and that comes with real change.

The last year has been one of the most exciting in our journey so far. We’ve taken on new customers, expanded our operations, and pushed ourselves to raise the bar in how we support labs across the UK and beyond.

But with that growth has come strain, the kind of good, healthy pressure that forces you to level up. Right now, that means investing in the kind of systems that don’t show up in glossy brochures or trade show stands.

Behind the scenes, we’re rolling out a brand-new CRM and ERP.

These are major upgrades. They’re not just “tech stack updates.” They’re the core infrastructure that will define how we operate for the next decade. And most importantly: they’ll directly improve the experience our customers have with us, day in, day out.

What this means for our partners and customers

We’re building for the long game. These upgrades are about more than efficiency, they’re about reliability, responsiveness, and relationships.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Faster and clearer communication at every touchpoint
  • Better visibility into your orders, quotes, and service history
  • Fewer delays, less chasing, and more consistency across teams

In short: everything just works better. But building that kind of foundation doesn’t happen in the background. It takes real time, energy, and attention from our whole team.

And that brings us to IBMS. Why we’re not exhibiting this year

We knew this rollout would overlap with IBMS. We looked at the timelines. We looked at our resources. And we asked ourselves: can we do both well? The honest answer: no. Could we show up, set up a stand, and hand out some brochures? Probably. But it wouldn’t be our best. And that’s not the kind of experience we want to offer, not to our team, and certainly not to our customers.

So instead of spreading ourselves thin, we’re focusing our efforts where they’ll have the biggest long-term impact. Sometimes the strongest move isn’t showing up for the optics. It’s making the difficult decision to stay behind and do what needs to be done. We’re not going quiet. We’re just getting it right.

Our absence from IBMS this year isn’t about pulling back. It’s about preparing to move forward, with more clarity, more control, and more capability.

We’re still here. Still growing. Still committed to delivering the kind of service that makes a difference in real labs, with real teams, doing real work.

If you’re a customer, a partner, or someone who’s followed our journey, we appreciate your support during this phase. It’s a big one.

And we’re looking forward to showing you what it’s all been for.
